What these lessons offer
We have created 4 online education lessons to give students the opportunity to immerse themselves into the world of a marine scientist. Students will conduct real research and record real data, discuss the different types of scientist, learn about species adaptations and gain a better understanding of marine ecoysystems.
There will be a total of 4 activities for students to complete, helping strengthen their understanding of the marine environment.

ACTIVITY 1: BEING A SCIENTIST
Students will use the Pope’s Eye underwater camera to observe and record data including the plants, animals, their behaviours and their interactions.
ACTIVITY 3: AN INTERCONNECTED BAY
In this lesson on biodiversity, students will discuss the importance of biodiversity in our everyday lives as well as how we may have an impact through our own daily choices.
ACTIVITY 2: CITIZEN SCIENCE
Students will use the Pope’s Eye cameras to conduct real field observations, record data and contribute to real scientific research.
ACTIVITY 4: BIOLOGY OF THE BAY
Throughout this lesson students will gain a basic understanding of why animals have adaptions and how these adaption help them survive in their environment.
